The relationships between waist circumference and health service costs: are the current waist circumference cut-points appropriate?
We will examine relationships between waist circumference and health service usage, including MBS and PBS costs, in the 1946-51 cohort. The aim is to determine whether the current cut-points for increased risk (80-88cm) and high risk (=88cm) are associated with an increased risk of adverse health outcomes, and therefore higher healthcare expenses.
