Does Childhood trauma predict mortality and disability outcomes in women aged over 70
The experience of childhood trauma can have long-term negative outcomes on health and wellbeing but little is known about its impact into old age and what factors may mediate that relationship. This analysis seeks to determine the relationship between older women’s report of early childhood trauma and two outcomes in old age: mortality and disability, after controlling for a range of factors, including demographic, social support and abusive relationship, health risk behaviours, chronic conditions, and mental health.
