Is having a household pet associated with physical activity and sitting time in older women?
There is a clear relationship between physical activity, sitting time and health outcomes in women. One proposed avenue to increase physical activity and reduce sitting time is through pet ownership and in particular dog ownership. The aim of this study is to examine prospective associations between having a household pet, physical activity and sitting time over 6 years in older women.
