Capture-recapture using multiple data sources: Estimating the prevalence of dementia in a cohort of older women.
As Australia’s population ages, the number of people with dementia will also increase. As such the costs and resources required to treat these people is likely to increase considerably. It is important to understand when, and in what setting dementia is diagnosed to inform policy decisions regarding this condition. The proposed analysis aims to estimate the prevalence of Dementia in a cohort of older women. The analysis will use multiple data sources, and assess how the prevalence of the condition changes with increasing age.
