A comparative study on diet and hypertension risk between Asia-born women and Australia-born women.
Due to different cultural background, women in Australia who were born in Asia may have different dietary behaviours, diet quality, nutrients intakes and chronic disease risk (e.g. hypertension) compared with Australia-born women. This study is to observe the differences in dietary behaviours and nutrient intakes between Australia-born women and Asia-born women, and to analyse the association between dietary differences andrisk of hypertension and other chronic disease. A better understanding of dietary behaviours, nutritional status and health of people from different cultural background, contributing to promotion for communication and taking advantages from each other and also lead to appropriate and culturally targeted dietary strategies for health promotion programs.
