Exploring intimate partner violence and salutary factors of health among women in the 1973-78 cohort.
This research seeks to explore the lived experience of intimate partner violence with women from the 1973-78 cohort, framed by adaptive salutogenic coping strategies. Intimate partner violence is a serious preventable public health problem which affects women worldwide. It has been proposed that salutogenic coping strategies could assist women's mental health and encourage seeking of solutions to an abusive relationship. This work will identify salutogenic factors that women may have used to sustain wellbeing in the midst of adverse experiences.
