Thank you for being part of the Menarche to PreMenopause substudy
We want to improve and personalise healthcare for women. The M-PreM substudy aims to understand how reproductive characteristics affect women’s chances of having chronic diseases and poor health later in life. The study will look at characteristics like the timing of your first period (menarche), period symptoms, pregnancy, and pelvic problems.
The M-PreM substudy is open to members of the 1973-78 cohort of the Australian Longitudinal Study on Women’s Health. Participants will:
- Receive a free health check at a local clinic
- Be asked to donate a blood sample
- Wear an activity tracker for a week
To find out more about the clinic visits and what is involved in the M-PreM substudy, please visit the Information for Participants page.
Coronavirus (COVID-19) update
Friday 20 November 2020
We hope you have all stayed safe and well during the coronavirus restrictions.
The M-PreM substudy returned in September 2020. We have sent invitations to participate in the study in some states so please keep an eye out.
There will be one key change to the substudy. We will be replacing lung function tests with a respiratory health questionnaire due to the risk of infection from aerosols produced during the test.
If you have any questions, please contact Women’s Health Australia on 1800 068 081.
