I’m not part of the Australian Longitudinal Study on Women’s Health (Women’s Health Australia). Can I still be involved in this study?
Thank you for your interest. Unfortunately, this study is only open to women from the 1973-78 Cohort of the Australian Longitudinal Study on Women’s Health.
If you completed the 8th survey for the 1973-78 cohort and indicated your interest in the M-PreM substudy, we will send you an invitation when a clinic is available in your state. If there is no clinic location near you, please feel free to give us a call on 1800 068 081 and we can work out how you may take part.
Yes, most clinics will be available on Saturday.
The clinic visit will take approximately 1.5 hours.
No, you are not required to fast, but please remember the last time you had something to eat or drink that was not water.
After your clinic visit, you will receive a $20 gift card to cover your travel expenses.
No, you will be supplied a Reply Paid envelope to cover any return postage costs. If you need another envelope, please call us on 1800 068 081 and we will send a new one to you.
After the clinic visit, you will receive your body measurements, blood pressure and resting heart rate, physical activity pattern, and cardiovascular and metabolic blood test results, if you completed these tests.
You will receive your results approximately 2-3 months after your clinic visit. If you have not received it after this time, please contact us on 1800 068 081.

I wore the activPAL for 8 nights, but why didn’t my physical activity report show results for the whole time?
The results that you received reflect the data that we obtained from your activPAL. Although uncommon, it is possible that the device stopped recording before you removed it from your leg. If you would like to re-do the physical activity monitoring (and the accompanying sleep diary), please call us on 1800 068 081.
