Information for mothers in the MatCH substudy
We want to learn how closely mothers’ and their children’s health are linked and what other factors can impact their child’s health and development. What we find can help improve health services, policies and programs for children and teenagers growing up in Australia today.
We want to hear about children and teenagers of women in the 1973-78 ALSWH cohort.
- If you have a child/ren aged 0-12 years we want you to complete a survey.
- If you have a child/ren aged 13-19 years, we want your help to invite them to participate. With your permission, we will contact them to complete their own survey.
Keep a look out for your invitation email with instructions on how you or your child can take part.
While MatCH refers to women and mothers, we acknowledge that not everyone who has given birth to a child may identify as a woman or mother, including individuals in the transgender community and people who are non-binary. You do not need to identify as a woman to participate in MatCH.
MatCH 2 aims to investigate the health and development of children and teenagers. We are researching the extent to which the history of maternal health and wellbeing, and characteristics of the family and environment impact on child and teenage health, development and use of health services.
Please make sure that you have read the participant information statement (below) and that you understand its contents before you consent to participate.
