A life-course approach to infertility and mental health
Synopsis
Infertility is a major problem affecting millions of people globally. It is estimated that in Australia, 1 in 6 couples are unable to conceive. This can cause a number of short term and long-term health problems, with mental health issues having the potential to impact women over their life course. Using the Australian Longitudinal Study on Women ’ sHealth (ALSWH), this study will establish how infertility and related socioeconomic and other associated factors can impact the mental health of
women, which may have the potential to affect the women over their life course.
