Cardiovascular risk and metabolic health screening in women with polycystic ovary syndrome
Synopsis
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a complex hormonal disorder common affecting one in five women and one in four Australian Indigenous women. PCOS is known to be associated with risk factors for heart disease such as diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol levels. In this project, we will compare the prevalence of risk factors for heart disease and the prevalence of screening for diabetes, blood pressure and cholesterol in women with and without PCOS.
