Synopsis

The project aims to identify profiles of health and support needs and sociodemographic characteristics among older women as they age. Health and support needs will be obtained from ALSWH data on self-reported quality of life, ADLs, IADLs etc. The second aim will be to explore aged care use and primary care and specialist care associated with different patterns of needs.

This research will provide important evidence that may assist in quality improvement activities, planning and policy development. It will provide useful information that can help to identify opportunities that may reduce the gaps between the needs and availability long term care to support older women as they age.
