Understanding multimorbidity over time in Australian women born in 1946-51.
Synopsis
Multimorbidity is a challenge for the health system. There is limited evidence on how multimorbidity develops over the life course in Australian women and the factors that may affect this. Our aims are to:
1) Identify the most common disease trajectories leading to the development of those chronic conditions associated with the highest burden of disease in Australian women currently aged in their seventies.
2) Investigate the factors associated with progression along the identified trajectories. These include health indicators, medication history, sociodemographic factors and health risk factors (eg diet, physical activity).
