Quality of life of women and people assigned female at birth who were born with variations of sex characteristics.
Synopsis
It is estimated that around 1-2% of the population are born with
variations of sex characteristics (also referred to as differences in, or
diverse sex development, and intersex). Women and non-binary people assigned
female at birth (AFAB) may be born with sexual anatomy, chromosomes or hormonal
patterns that vary from 'typical' female bodies. This project addresses the extremely limited evidence about the health
and wellbeing of women and AFAB people who are born with variations of sex
characteristics.
