Women’s pre-pregnancy preventive healthcare engagement
Synopsis
Pre-pregnancy
preventive healthcare engagement can help women prepare for a healthy pregnancy
before becoming pregnant and prevent pregnancy-related complications. Despite
its importance, few studies have investigated participation in pre-pregnancy
healthcare, and many reproductive-aged women in Australia are unaware of the
need for preconception care. This study aims to examine the factors influencing
women's participation in pre-pregnancy preventive healthcare and their impact
on pregnancy-related complications. This study will generate evidence on
women's pre-pregnancy preventive healthcare engagement as well as its effect in
reducing pregnancy-related complications in a cohort of mothers (1989-95 cohort)
