Contraceptive use among sexually diverse women
Synopsis
Contraceptives are primarily used for pregnancy prevention but have also been found to be medically effective in treating a range of women’s health issues. Inequities in access to healthcare for sexually diverse women are well reported and occur for a range of reasons, but how sexually diverse women access and use contraception (particularly over time) is not well understood. Drawing on existing data Australian longitudinal data, we aim to better understand the patterns of contraceptive use in this group at a population level.
