Influence of socio-economic position on transitions in caring over 15 years for women born 1946-1951 and 1973-1978

Synopsis

This study will establish the role health inequalities during critical life stages play in whether women become carers and what caring transitions occur; and show how health inequalities across different life stages interact with caring to influence carer wellbeing. Findings will address Priority Areas in the 2011 National Carer Strategy. The project will use cutting-edge statistical methodologies for life course epidemiology and indepth qualitative enquiry. Outcomes will address Priority 4 (Services for Carers) and Priority 5 (Education and Training) in the 2011 Australian Government National Carer Strategy.
