The role of physical activity in the onset of joint pain in mid-age women

Synopsis

Chronic joint pain and stiffness, the cardinal symptoms of osteoarthritis, are a major cause of disability and reduced quality of life. Physical activity is believed to play a protective role in the onset of joint pain, however, little is known about the cumulative effects of physical activity over time on the development of joint pain. The aim of this study is to examine the cumulative effects of physical activity on the risk of developing joint pain and stiffness in mid-age women.
