Identifying multimorbidity clusters in older women and their relationship to activities of daily living, general health, mortality and health service use.

Synopsis

With an increasing ageing population in many countries, the burden of multimorbidity (i.e. the presence of multiple conditions) among the aged is an important clinical and public health problem. Various measures of multimorbidity have been created, but they are generally based on number and severity of concurrent diseases. In this project we aim to identify how morbid conditions and symptoms cluster among older women, and whether these clusters relate to activities of daily living, general health, health service use and mortality.
