Changes over time in the sexual and reproductive health of 18-23 year women: Comparison of key indicators between ALSWH 1973-78 cohort in 1996 and the New Young Cohort in 2013.

Synopsis

The proposed project forms a section in Major Report I (Section 9: Sexual and reproductive health). It compares key indicators of sexual and reproductive health between the first survey of the 1973-78 cohort in 1996 and the first survey of the New Young Cohort collected in 2013. Key indicators include sexually transmitted infections, contraception use and the methods used, pregnancy and reproductive events. Fertility-related disorders such as PCOS and endometriosis are examined in both cohorts. Rates of sexual activity, urinary tract infection and HPV vaccination are explored in the New Young Cohort only.
