Differences in physical health symptoms among young women born in 1989-95 and 1973-78

Synopsis

This proposed project forms the basis of section 7 in the Major Report I (Section 7: Physical health status). It provides the prevalence of physical health symptoms from the first survey of ALSWH participants born in 1989-95 (New Young Cohort (NYC)). It compares the key indicators of physical health status with those obtained from the first survey of ALSWH participants born in 1973-78. Indicators of physical health status available in both cohorts range from menstrual symptoms to the diagnosis of chronic conditions such as diabetes. Prevalence of doctor diagnosis of bronchitis, thrombosis, and self-report of breathing difficulties, stiff or painful joints, and problems with one or both feet are presented in the 1989-95 cohort only.
