Synopsis

This analysis seeks to understand older women’s of healthcare in remote and very remote Australia by exploring and appreciating their contribution as social capital. This research will analyse the free text comments made by women in the 1921-26 cohort to thematically describe the complexities and details of healthcare in rural Australia. By appreciating the value of social networks this research will place women’s experiences of healthcare into a social capital framework.
