Synopsis

This project will examine the effects of short and medium-term exposure to air pollution and adverse health effects in Australian women of different ages. Air pollution is known to have detrimental effects on health, but few studies have assessed its effects on women and fewer still have examined the role of age. This study will use state-of-the-art methods to determine residential exposures of women to ambient air pollution that will be linked to a range of self-reported and objectively-measured health outcomes. It will make a substantial contribution to the evidence base on air pollution and health in Australia and overseas.
