Synopsis

This project will provide quality evidence about the intricate relationship between mental health and sexual violence. The impact of sexual violence on the mental health of women with and without a history of mental health problems will be examined, and the factors which protect against or intensify those impacts will be defined. Linkage with Medicare data will facilitate investigation into the use of health services by women who experienced sexual violence and how it relates to changes in mental health.
