Synopsis

Understanding influences of cognitive decline and functional health in earlier life on performing activities in daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities in daily living (IADL) in later life can help identify service targets to promote their everyday participation. This project uses a versatile multivariate statistical framework to test the nature and magnitude of direct and indirect relationships between difficulties in performing ADL and IADL daily tasks, cognitive decline and physical and mental functional health over time in the older age cohort.
