The long-term impact of violence on young women’s aspirations and life satisfaction

Synopsis

The links between violence and women’s physical and emotional health are well established. However, less is known about the impact of violence on other indicators of wellbeing. This study investigates the work and family aspirations held by young Australian women who experience violence and the extent to which changes in aspirations over time are influence by women’s experiences of violence. The long-term impact of violence on women’s actual lifestyles (i.e., employment, number of children, marital status) will also be examined.
