The effect of asthma on mental health outcomes in mid and older aged women with diabetes.

Synopsis

In a recent study using the ALSWH database (EOI 513A) we established a link between Diabetes and mental health decline in mid aged and older Australian women over a nine year period. These findings are consistent withstrong evidence that a lack of glycaemic control leads to cognitive impairment in patients with diabetes. The aim of this project is to further interrogate the ALSWH database to determine if asthma worsens the adverse mental health outcomes associated with diabetes in mid- and older aged Australian women over a 15 year time frame.
