Unintended pregnancies and psychological wellbeing: Examining the role of partner violence.

Synopsis

Unintended pregnancy is common, particularly among women exposed to violence. There is evidence to suggest that women who experience unintended pregnancies report high levels of emotional distress; however, partner violence is not always taken into account. We use data from young women(born in 1989-95) to examine the potential role of violence in explaining the relationship between unintended pregnancy and psychological distress.
