External validation of a screening instrument to identify cardiometabolic predictors of mortality in adults with cancer

Synopsis

Flinders University recently developed a screening instrument using data from the Australian Longitudinal Study of Ageing that can be used to predict cardiometabolic risk of mortality in elderly cancer survivors and defined centile values for risk classification. Before this instrument is able to be used in practice it requires external validation using an independent dataset such as the Australian Longitudinal Study of Women's Health.
