How are the sociodemographic characteristics of young Australian adult women associated with differences in the nutritional quality of their dietary intake?

Synopsis

Research has shown that the sociodemographic characteristics of individuals are associated with their dietary intake however what remains unclear is the extent to which human nutrition, and more specificallymacronutrient/micronutrient intake, is associated with these sociodemographic characteristics. In analysing data from the fourth survey of the 1989-95 cohort of the Australian Longitudinal Study on Women’s Health, which included the MyFood24 tool, this project will estimate the strength of associations between sociodemographic characteristics of women and their nutritional intake. This information will provide a valuable resource for the formulation of prevention strategies and education to target at risk groups with the goal to reduce illness brought about by poor nutrition.
