The effects of vigorous intensity exercise during pregnancy and postpartum on maternal and infant outcomes

The role of exercise and patterns of exercise, (particularly vigorous intensity exercise), during pregnancy and postpartum are not well understood. Previous research has indicated the importance of exercise in this population, yet there is little research investigating the relationship between exercise patterns, and maternal and infant outcomes. The aim of this study is to evaluate the rates and intensity of physical activity during pregnancy, and the implications on health and birth outcomes.
