Young Australian women’s experiences of endometriosis: A thematic analysis of longitudinal survey data
Synopsis
It is well documented that endometriosis negatively impacts women’s quality of life and social and intimate relationships.
Limited research exists that examines the issues for young women with endometriosis, specifically before their diagnosis and over time in a longitudinal design.
The proposed project aims to understand, and compare, the issues for young Australian women with endometriosis to their peers without a diagnosis of endometriosis.
The free text comments provided by the women at the end of each survey will be subject to a reflexive thematic analysis to identify key themes relating to their experiences over time.
The findings may inform future
priority areas for women with endometriosis.
