An interdisciplinary investigation into the experience and impacts of living with drought for 3 generations of Australian women

Synopsis

This project is using data from the Australian Longitudinal Study on Women’s Health to investigate the longitudinal experience of drought for women in Australia. It is forecast that climate change is going to be a challenge for human health. Droughts are projected to increase in frequency and intensity, understanding what this may mean for women and health is vital for planning future health policy and drought policy. This PhD research project has two phases of research, phase one being a qualitative longitudinal narrative analysis of the free text comments collected by the ALSWH and phase two, conducting semi-structured interview with approximately 15 women to explore women’s experiences of drought in Australia.
