Non-traditional risk factors for dementia
Synopsis
Anxiety, stress, and shift/night work are linked to dementia pathology but are not traditionally recognised risk factors for dementia. Our study aims to investigate i) the effect of possible non-traditional risk factors: anxiety, stress, and shift/night work on dementia risk, ii) their time to event, iii) the risk of dementia in those with change in exposure status over the follow up period and iv) the directional influences between the non-traditional risk factors and dementia.
