Risk of cardiovascular disease after breast cancer
Synopsis
People who are diagnosed with cancer can have
heart disease after their diagnosis. Risk of heart disease may increase if they
have risk factors, such as cancer treatment that can have a potentially toxic
effect on the heart, or if they have a previous history of heart disease, if
they were smokers or obese. We aim to find out if Australian women with breast
cancer have different risks of heart disease based on health, or
socioeconomic-related factors.
