Synopsis

Mental health problems and heavy episodic alcohol consumption are major public health issues in Australia. Both are common among young adults. This project aims to identify groups of women with distinct longitudinal trajectories of binge drinking between 16 and 21 years. The longitudinal relationship between binge drinking and poor mental health will be investigated. The NSW Department of Health has awarded a grant to conduct these analyses, which are ongoing.
