Capture-recapture using multiple data sources: Estimating the prevalence of dementia in a cohort of older women

Synopsis

The Australian Longitudinal Study of Women’s Health (ALSWH) has recruited an old cohort of women born between 1921-1926. These women have responded to a series of self-reported health surveys. The study has also accessed Aged Care data for the same cohort of women. Together these datasets provide a valuable resource in understanding the experiences and health of older women and the services they require. In the proposed project we will conduct a thorough preliminary analysis of these datasets to understand how they link together. The information gained will be used to inform the analysis approach of futures studies which use both the survey data and Aged care data.
