Identifying the predictors of hospitalisation for women with single and multiple comorbid chronic conditions
The aim of this study is to identify and assess factors associated with hospital use and costs for mid- and older-aged Australian women with chronic illnesses. To date, analyses have been undertaken for arthritis and cardiovascular disease. The findings show higher rates of hospitalisation and costs among women who report arthritis compared with those who do not, and higher rates of hospital use and cost for women who report doctor-diagnosed diabetes compared with women who do not.
