Violence and reproductive ageing in mid-life. Physical and psychological effects of violence may negatively impact on women’s reproductive lives. Most of the research focuses on the impact of violence on women during their childbearing years. However, violence may have an enduring influence on women, affecting their experience of reproductive ageing (e.g. age of menopause, duration of peri-menopause, menopause status (including hysterectomy +- bilateral oophorectomy and hormone therapy use), vasomotor, somatic and psychosocial symptoms). Using data from the1946-51 cohort, this study will examinethe extent to which violence in mid-aged women is associated with their experience of reproductive ageing in mid-life.
